A LIL CHIPPY MAKES A GREAT SHABBY - chippy french nightstands

I just finished up a fun pair of bedside tables.

I bought a broken antique table, ... okay let me start that again.
I paid money for a dozen little pieces of wood that used to be a table with pretty legs.
There was no top and in the end I was fortunate that I found all the other pieces but
I didn't know when I handed the money over.

The body of these nightstands were a part of a cute set I purchased on Craig's list.
Not my usual playground but they worked perfectly for my plans.

The ceramic and metal knobs I brought back from our time on vacation.

The drawers have a great decorative arched detail on the face.

This pair of chippy and shabby bedside tables is currently listed in the SHOWROOM
with price and dimensions.

TOGETHER WE CAN HANDLE IT - cane console table

It`s hard getting back into work when you have been away from it for a long period.
Both George and I are trying to recall this feeling from past years but it seems different
this time around. Not only have we had several negatives come up since our return home
but we also spent our entire Easter weekend sick in bed.
Seriously not a single chocolate bunny or egg has been seen or enjoyed around here.

Even being sick has not kept me completely down as I`ve been able
to bring this newly completed console table to you.

Fortunately I didn`t have to build anything but I can tell you,
painting and waxing open designed furniture takes a great deal of time, product,
attention to detail, and great patience.

It has 2 removable glass panels in the top surface,
and 2 perfect caned panels on the bottom.

This is a vintage solid wood piece of furniture.

This Cane Console Table is listed on the SHOWROOM page with dimensions and price.

Get it before I decide to keep it!

MODERN CONVENIENCE - french provincial 4 drawer dresser

George has loved this dresser for quite some time but alas,
if you love something you must set it free.

It was painted in old white and distressed to give it more age than it actually has.

We had bought both this dresser and a matching desk,
when we moved in together.
The desk was painted and sold long ago, (stop pouting Elinor)

But in the last few months once it was clear it was going to have to find a new home
the dresser became another victim to Chalk Paint.

This dresser has pretty provincial handles and the modern convenience of roller drawers.

It is currently listed on the SHOWROOM page with dimesions and price.

COTTAGE MEETS COUNTRY - cottage country cabinet

I was mulling around looking to do a fun furniture project and before I knew it
it was midnight and I had started to tear several pieces of furniture apart.

5 days later here is what came of all that demolition.

I saw something similar once and knew it would be a great display and storage piece.

I've been flip flopping from selling it, to keeping it, and back to selling it, so it is up for grabs.

It has a wonderful blend of cottage styling with country charm.

It is finished in a bright white with lots of distressed detailing of all the wood used.

If you had not guessed yet it started as simple 5ft pine dresser.
I used a set of legs from a small country kitchen table to lift it up.

20 drawer sides were used to build the 2 interior shelves
and 8 drawer fronts were needed for the top of the cabinet.

I stole the original top of the dresser for the bottom shelf.
It is a nice thick solid piece of pine making the base super strong and sturdy.
Each shelf opening got a delicate edge trim all the way around.

FOYER FURNITURE - entry unit

Over the last week I have been building a piece of furniture meant to use in a foyer.
I thought I would look up the official definition of FOYER for you and share it:

A foyer in a house is usually a small entry area or room by the front door. Other public rooms such as the living room, dining room, and family room typically attach to it, along with any main stairway. It was initially intended as an "airlock", separating the fireplace-heated rooms from the (colder, in winter) front entrance, where cold air infiltration made for cold drafts and low temperatures. It is commonly used for outer garment and umbrella storage for both residents and guests.

The piece I built meets these needs perfectly and I'm eager to share it with you.

It has fancy hooks, knobs, and posts to hang your items from.

It has hidden storage and open shelves.

It also has a great mirror and big surface for catching your shopping bags
or displaying things you love, like those flowers being given to you in mid February.

HERE you can see some of the parts that made this piece come together.
