SEAWORTHY FINALLY - wine crate handpainted side table

I've found the time to get the wine crate table completely finished and ready to go.

Inside the table is stamped with October 1969, so it's officially older then I am.

It was sanded first, 4 coats of primer applied, then 3 coats of paint finished the body off.

The process of getting the labelled painted and protected on the surface can be found here.

I painted the original hardware in flat black.

FRENCH WINE TEASER - project this week

George spotted this wine crate at a yard sale and suggested I use the graphics on my next project.

I bought this charming fluted leg table with 2 drawers at a fundraiser a few weeks ago.

Remember the title of this post did say *TEASER*
STAY TUNED !!!

FRENCH CHOCOLATE - handpainted table with french label

No it's not the yummy rich edible kind.
It is a fabulous vintage chocolate label offered by the Graphics Fairy.

I originally bought her at a sale just like the ones you see on the TV show CASH & CARI.

Everyone files into a house, so many at a time to find it full of items labeled to sell.
Once I spotted her I grabbed the tag and turned very excited to head
the cashier by the door but just then I realized I couldn't just leave her sit there alone,
my goodness someone else will steal her.
So like a mother eagle I stood watching over her ready to peck at any little crows that came near till George found us and carried her off.

Of course a french symbol such as the Fleur De Li's had to be used for the door handle.

She also has great storage inside.

Tutorial with pictures can be found here.

BLOG MOTHERS - thank you for the inspiration

This is a shout out to a couple of woman who have
inspired me, and I wanted to wish them a happy
mother's day in a special way.

Gail from
MY REPURPOSED LIFE
did a clock table long before I ever started blogging
but when I first saw it online I saved that image

and patiently waited for the right piece to come to me.

Well it came last week.
The first appearance of Gail's clock can be seen here
then the antiqueing here
and finally mounted on the perfect legs here

THANK YOU GAIL!
I really enjoyed creating this

Then there is the infamous
MISS MUSTARD SEED
She's been doing hand painted signs for quite some
time

I enjoy them all but never seem to find time to
make one myself till the copy me challenge.
I ended up going in a different direction for the
challenge which you can see here but still had
started something that I did recently get finished.

Take a look at some of Marian's signs here

THANK YOU MARIAN!
I will definetly try more soon.

YOU KNOB! - hand painted knobs

The French Clock set

All these knobs are made of wood and hand
painted, but more importantly they are being
recycled. They have been collected from many
pieces of furniture I have repurposed.

The Black Fleur De Lis Set

The Hawaiian Set

and finally the Pastel Spring

I had a blast painting them.
What do you think?
