BRIGHT WHITE AND CHARCOAL - additions to the showroom

I've added a few things to the SHOWROOM page today.

The first item is this super uber tufted stool,
upholstered in a soft white vinyl with ruffle and cord trim.

The next item is a vanity desk finished in bright white.
It is lightly distressed giving the perfect shabby chic feel.

A very unique piece, it has a long drawer on the right
and a smaller drawer with cupboard on the left.

It also has 4 glass knobs and 3 decorative appliques.

The final item is an antique office chair
refinished in a distressed charcoal.

I've padded and upholstered the seat,
and it has nail head trim in silver.

Any of these items can be found listed on the SHOWROOM page with measurements and pricing,
as well as the BEFORE AND AFTER page if you would like to see how they started out.

GEORGE TOLD ME I WAS HOT LAST NIGHT - slipper chair n ottoman

I started writing this post several days ago
just as something was hitting me and hitting me hard,
which I'll explain at the end.

I completed this slipper chair with the help of
my sister awhile back, that post can be seen here.

The purchasers of this chair also requested a matching ottoman.
Taya and Matt are a lovely young couple and repeat customers.
I had the matching fabric and a couple of useful pieces waiting for redo.
The question would be ... would one of them work?

Attempt one, was too small,

Attempt two, was too tall,

Attempt three, was just right.

If you look closely you might realize this ottoman was made from
the only salvageable part of another arm chair, with great legs.

I've been MIA for the last few days due to a case of severe strep
throat. If you have ever been afflicted with this condition I now
understand and sympathize. I couldn't talk, eat, swallow, and the
worst part for me was not thinking straight due to a high fever for
36hrs straight. After a midnight visit to the hospital and high doses
of medication, the doc says it will take a few more days till I
started to feel normal again and I'm still having trouble eating and
drinking but I'm definitely back, with a funny sounding voice.

VINTAGE CHENILLE - reupholstered french chair

Yesterday I showed you the *BEFORE* of a
little french chair I was working on this week.
If you missed that post you can find it here.

The inspiration for this piece started last month in Florida.
We found a gorgeous little shop in St. Petersburg called

The shop is filled with distressed shabby chic furniture,
linens, pillows, chandeliers, and a lot more eye candy.
The first thing George did once inside was
approach the shop keepers and jokingly said "I'll
be back in a couple hours to pick her up"
He then continued chatting and joking with them as usual
while I ran around taking pictures of everything I could.

I just adored these chenille upholstered benches they had.

You can see more photos of the store here at their
web site, and for you regulars I'll be sharing more
of the photos I took soon.

First chance I got I did a little something of my own.

It's distressed to give the feel that it is truely an old
piece then I waxed and polished it till it was shiney smooth.

I edged the seat with bright white trim,

and added a single button to embellish the back.
My instructions for button tufting can be found here.

So what do you think?

More white furniture can be seen here.
