It was also really interesting to find out that people were nominating the skulls for a pdf pattern. I would have never thought to make a pattern of those, but now they're definitely added to the list of pdf-patterns-to-be!

Launch Day - Giveaway

I only ever did two giveaways and both of them were when I still lived in Japan... This Launch Day Celebration is the perfect occasion for a new giveaway! I need to do more giveaways in the future because they're just so much fun.

I'm giving away a completely new kind of product, which I happened to finish developing during the Indie Biz course: my very first pdf pattern. 

Creating this pattern seemed like a never-ending project, but now that I've finished my first, I'm sure the next will be easier and quicker, and the next, and the next... That's right, I'm planning on creating many more pdf patterns of my awkward creatures, but I'm not sure who's up next, to be turned into a pattern...

Sal the Monkey

A while back I organized a giveaway because I was about to sew my 11th monkey as 'eleventh monkey', and the giveaway winner got to choose the colors. Sal won and chose orange and green with blue buttons. And I can’t believe I still haven’t blogged the resulting monkey until now:

Honestly, I wasn’t sure about the color combination, but it turned out beautifully. And that’s exactly why it’s fun to let someone else chose the colors for a change: you get surprising results. I made the monkey when I was still in Japan, and ‘Sal the Monkey’ has been living with the ‘Sal the Human’ for a couple of months now and she’s having a blast, they even went on a trip together.

During this giveaway Mr. Cupcake received the most love from giveaway participants and Mr. Ice Cream Cone didn’t seem to be so popular. But amongst my Japanese students Mr. Ice Cream Cone was the most popular and Mr. Cupcake wasn’t liked much at all. Wonder why? Perhaps because they don’t sell cupcakes in Japan and most students didn’t even know what he was.

Anyway, let’s see who won! Unfortunately, my cute assistant is not available this time to draw giveaway winners, so I simply used an online random number generator. And it resulted in these three winners:

Sweet GIVEAWAY!

Last week I taught several really fun sewing classes at school! Students got to choose their favorite sweet treat from three examples and sew it in class with me. And I sewed three extra badges to give away on my blog, because I had so much fun during my first giveaway! Meet Mr. Ice Cream Cone II, Mr. Chocolate Chip Cookie II and Mr. Cupcake II. And someone took a bite out of poor Mr. Cookie because he looks so delicious.

eleventh monkey GIVEAWAY!

My birthday is on the eleventh (of August) and my Chinese zodiac sign is monkey, hence the ‘eleventh monkey’. Under this name, I’ve already designed and hand sewn numerous felt creatures, and many of them were monkeys. Ten to be exact, so the next monkey I’ll make will be the eleventh! I feel like celebrating!

I’ve been wanting to organize a giveaway for ages and this seems like the perfect occasion! The winner of this giveaway gets to choose all the colors for the eleventh monkey. You get to decide the color of felt for the body, the face, and the nose. The color of buttons for the eyes and the colors of the embroidery floss used to sew it all together!
